Religious Worker Visa 👇
🢠1. What It Is The Religious Worker Visa is a temporary immigration route that allows individuals to come to the UK for religious work for a maximum of 24 months.
This visa is designed for those who will support the activities of a religious institution in roles that are not primarily pastoral or leadership-focused. Crucially, unlike the Minister of Religion visa, this route does not lead to settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain).
📜 2. Who Can Apply This visa is for individuals who have a job offer from a licensed religious organisation in the UK. The role is typically a supporting one and can include:
- Working as a member of a religious order (e.g., as a monk, nun).
- Performing non-pastoral duties that support the religious institution.
- Assisting in the religious work of the community in a capacity other than as a minister.
🔑 3. Key Requirements To apply for a Religious Worker Visa, the main requirements are:
- Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS): A valid CoS must be provided by a licensed religious organisation in the UK.
- Financial Requirement: The applicant must prove they have at least £1,270 in savings to support themselves upon arrival. This is not needed if their A-rated sponsor agrees to "certify maintenance."
- Genuineness and Temporary Intent: The applicant must genuinely intend to perform the specified role and must plan to leave the UK at the end of their visa.
- No Specific English Language Requirement: A key difference from the Minister of Religion route is that this temporary visa does not have a formal English language proficiency requirement.
