Business Visit Visa 👇
🢠1. What It Is A Business Visit falls under the Standard Visitor Visa category. It is designed for individuals who need to come to the UK for a short period to carry out specific, permitted business activities.
This visa does not allow a person to work in the UK for a UK-based company. The holder must remain employed and paid by an overseas employer. The primary purpose is to facilitate international trade and business connections, not to enter the UK labour market. The stay is typically limited to six months.
📜 2. Who Can Apply Individuals can visit the UK for business if their activities are permissible under the visitor rules. This includes:
- Professionals attending meetings, conferences, seminars, or interviews.
- Businesspeople coming to negotiate and sign deals and contracts.
- Employees of an overseas company undertaking site visits or inspections.
- Scientists and researchers sharing expertise or taking part in research projects.
- Employees of a foreign company sent to install, service, or repair equipment sold by their company to a UK business.
🔑 3. Key Requirements The requirements are the same as for a Standard Visitor but with a strong focus on the business context. An applicant must prove that:
- The purpose of the visit is a permitted business activity: They must provide clear evidence of their planned activities, such as a letter of invitation from a UK company, conference registration, or a detailed itinerary.
- They will not work in the UK: The applicant must show they will not receive payment from a UK source (except for reasonable travel and subsistence expenses) and will remain employed by their overseas company.
- They are financially self-sufficient: They must provide evidence of sufficient funds to cover all costs of the trip without needing to access public funds.
- They will leave at the end of their visit: Like all visitors, they must demonstrate strong economic and social ties to their home country as an incentive to return.
